All paintings offered for sale by Jean W. Thomas are of gallery exhibition
quality. Each piece of art is an original. The few prints or reproductions are clearly listed as such. The paintings are created with acrylic, oil or alkyd paints
and only the finest artists materials are used. Most are offered for sale
unframed to reduce price and shipping weight. Some paintings are done on
primed but unmounted canvas so they can be rolled for ease of shipping.
All support boards are prepared with at least 3 coats of primer and the finished paintings are varnished and ready to be framed.
In some cases the canvas is wrapped around the stretcher bars as part of
the painting and may be hung unframed. Jean’s technique often involves the
use of thick buttery paint, creating a very textured ‘painterly’ canvas
surface. There is sometimes uneven paint thickness on the painting
Every painting is signed by the artist on the front and marked with the date, medium and dimensions on the back. Paintings are sold unframed unless a frame is listed in the description. Prices do not include shipping and insurance which will vary due to the painting size and weight. The art will be packaged with the utmost care and protection. It is important to remember that no painting should be hung in direct sunlight or outside.
